247Sports released its second set of Top247 rankings for the 2026 class Wednesday afternoon. Three of Penn State football's four commits in the class are ranked among the nation's elite, while a bevy of football coachJames Franklin and company's top football targets are scattered across the rankings.
Elite in-state offensive tackle Kevin Brown is now the top-ranked recruit in Penn State's 2026 class on 247Sports. The Harrisburg High standout moved up 15 spots in the rankings, jumping from No. 99 nationally to No. 83. Brown's high school running back, close friend and fellow Nittany Lions pledge Messiah Mickens is now the No. 166 recruit in the nation, while California quarterback Troy Huhn is in place as the No. 171 prospect in the 2026 class.
Penn State football is looking to add onto its already-strong start to the cycle and it is in the running to land some of the top talent the 2026 class has to offer. The Nittany Lions are legitimate contenders to land two of 247Sports' early five-star recruits in the class and there are many more realistic gets for Franklin and his staff within the Top247.
